Greetings! If you would like to continue receiving periodic updates or action alerts in support of sustainable education funding reforms, please email me at wildlor@gmail.com or call with any questions.

This year promises to bring new challenges and chances for community building.  Raising our RURAL voice is as important as ever for our children and communities in restoring sustainable schools and economies!!!

Welcome

This website is a "work in progress" of Western Mass COUNTS. Western Mass COUNTS is a grassroots coalition working to restore educational funding in the towns of the Mohawk Trail Regional Schools District and throughout Western Massachusetts . Our purpose is to ensure the continued vitality of our public schools, towns and economy. We hope this site can continue to grow and be a resource, sounding board and educational place for creative and respectful exchange among parents, teachers, administrators, community members, and students as we  work together on creative short and long term solutions.

Drop a note to Lorena at wildlor@gmail.com if you would like to hear about upcoming meetings and action alerts.

We encourage anyone interested to join this online community and share your thoughts, post documents, join a working group, and access resources.

We have some great photos of our Trip to Beacon Hill in April - our "canaries in the coal mine" met with Deval and handed out Suzanne Conway-Lagreze's art pin supporting the Rural and Declining Enrollment Circuit Breaker. We are working on an updated platform for this budget cycle. Feel free to email lorena@wmcounts.org to network or with any questions.
